UMW-OG collaborates with MMEA & HESS for inaugural safety PSA initiative
UMW-OG recently kicked off its marine safety Public Service Announcement (PSA) initiative at an event held in conjunction with the Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA)’s 13th anniversary.
The initiative was symbolically launched by Dato’ Abdul Rahman, Deputy Director General (Management), MMEA, and witnessed by En Rohaizad Darus, President, UMW-OG and Capt. MS Affendy Abdul Rani, Head of Logistics & Materials, Hess Corporation.
Supported by MMEA and HESS, Phase 1 of the first initiative saw the installation of five (5) signboards with various messages targeting the maritime community; mainly fishermen based in Tok Bali. Adopting a soft, caring approach, UMW-OG hopes that the PSA signs will serve as a gentle reminder and ultimately a deterrent to future encroachments of oil and gas operation areas.
